Study Guide Leader Resources

I grew up a pastor's kid. I was a leader in my youth group and FCA in high school and college.  I had the privilege of playing college basketball, and taught and coached in public high schools.  My heart and experience had been wrapped up in both ministry and sports, but never thought that would take me around the world. A man came to my church years ago and told me that I could go to places around the world where people had never heard the name Jesus...and use sports to reach them.  I probably should have been smart enough to connect those dots, but I never had.  However, that encounter changed the trajectory of my life, because it put me on a plane the next summer, bound for the other side of the world.  When I came face to face with those who had NO IDEA who Jesus was, and God had given me the gift of using my abilities and passions to reach them...I was never the same!

 

Our prayer is that this study, and what God does in your life as a result, will change you forever too! It may not mean that you get on a plane bound for a foreign land, but we pray it means you become bold enough to take the Good News of the Gospel "as you are going" to the lost, the hurting and the forgotten. Why?  Read Matthew 9:37-38, "He said to his disciples, 'The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.'"
